Modest Swimwear-Stop Yankin' and Pulling!
The Quest for Modest Swimwear: A True Story
After 3 boys in a row, I got a daughter! Wow, do the protective feelings ever come on strong! Even when she was a baby, I could tell that society and I were not going to be in agreement with how much skin she was going to expose to view. And as she grew up, the battle to find modest swimwear was on!
So we shopped, and shopped and shopped, and never came home with quite the right thing. So we experimented. How does a t-shirt worn over the suit look? Well, a t-shirt in the water is cold, heavy, hard to swim in, baggy, and looks pretty revealing when wet!
So we started sewing, trying to makeover the existing swimsuits we could buy in the stores into something with more coverage. I moan to remember all the prototypes we sewed just trying to find the right balance between modesty, comfort and fashion! We were desperate for modest swimwear!
Have you ever gone to the public swimming pool and just sat and watched. The boys and men are having the great time! The girls and ladies are engaged in the struggle to cover up! If it wasn't so pathetic, it would be funny. Yankin' and pulling, pulling and yanking. Basically, there is insufficient fabric in a swimsuit to make a gal happy. She tugs up on the front neckline to give cover the cleavage.. . then, oops...she is now in great need to give a big two-handed pull-down to the back of the panty, to keep it from riding up on their bottom. Now it's an underarm tug to keep the breasts covered. When it comes to the crotch area, there just isn't much fabric there to cover a very private part of the body!
Yank and pull. Pull and yank. It doesn't look fun!
This called for some serious pattern drawing. The goal: modest swimwear! I had lots of sewing experience, and my husband is an engineer, so he got out his drafting tools and some pattern paper. We slaved most of a summer away trying to come up with the perfect modest bathing suits!
Beautiful modest swimwear! Was this too much to ask? My first priority in designing a swimsuit is modesty, but comfort and stylishness are vital considerations too. After a whole summer of trying this style and that, sewing hundreds of prototypes, we finally created a suit that's a prize winner! Our very popular Modest Swimwear gets rave reviews! Everyone feels comfortable, modest and fashionable in this sarong swimsuit.
Our Sarong Swimsuit is made of quick-drying Lycra swim fabric that flexes with the body’s movements. It has lightly padded, no-show-through bra cups (instead of those limp, panel bras). The sewn-in sarong skirt drapes beautifully and gives the crotch area coverage to make the swimmer much more at ease. Under the skirt are shorts, not a panty but full coverage snug-fitting shorts, so you can sit comfortably cross-legged without ever having to yank at anything! This suit is all one piece, so there is never worry about the midriff showing, or the sarong falling off or anything else.
Finally, liberation! Finally, comfort when swimming! Hooray!
Big girls and moms feel comfy and relaxed in our swimwear. Older women appreciate the skin coverage of our modest swimwear. Little girls are just charming in these modest swimsuits. Boaters love to wear them as “splash wear”. Sun sensitive persons love the fact that they give top-of-the-arm and thigh coverage, where sunburns can be so painful. People who may feel ill at ease wearing a swimsuit into a store think they are great and dash into the store in their modest swimwear. There is no need for a cover-up.
My daughters have worn these suits for 10 years now, and everywhere they go, people approach them and ask where they got their beautiful suits. As we have traveled, we see them everywhere we go, from Hawaii beaches to USA water parks, and more.
If you are tired of what the stores have to offer, and are wishing for some coverage, some modesty when swimming . . .if you are ready for something new, try our modest swimwear. I think you will be delighted! You can also see a big collection of photos at our gallery of modest swimwear on our website.
Enjoy!

This is pretty cool. Most modest swimsuits are just plain ugly. This is cute. I don't tan so protection is essential.

Thank you! I have been combing through the web and dozens of stores in search of a modest bathing suit, but nothing I found fit my needs. Now I can swim comfortably, and without my concience pricking at me. Thank you!
